Today, let’s talk about several transmission methods for the installation of several network monitoring systems.
The first method: the traditional method, which consists of network camera + power supply + network cable
This is a relatively common method, and many friends are using it. In the integrated wiring, the power line and the network cable must be laid at the same time. The power supply can also be connected to the nearest 220V AC, so as to save power wires. The advantages and disadvantages of it will not be discussed here. Provide power to each IP camera. There is another network cable to transmit network data to the network hard disk video recorder NVR.
Follow the picture below
The second type: POE power supply mode, with network camera + POE switch
In this way, a power cord is saved compared with the previous method. A network camera only needs a network cable as the medium for transmitting signals, and the power cord is no longer used. The unshielded Category 5e twisted-pair cable is enough for the network cable, and there is no problem with the transmission distance of 100 meters.
The connection method is as follows:
Why the mainstream uses PoE switches as network monitoring systems now has the following advantages:
1. Save wire, save wiring time, save wiring labor, and improve engineering construction efficiency.
2. No power supply, no strong electricity involved, no risk of electric shock, reduced failure probability, and reduced maintenance costs.
3. Reduce the difficulty of construction, simple and convenient, easy to use, and the engineering wiring is more beautiful.
The third type: In the case of long distance, network camera + optical fiber + transceiver
It can transmit farther!
As we said earlier, the network cable transmission is normally within 100 meters, and if it exceeds 100 meters, we generally consider using optical fiber transmission. Optical fiber not only has a long transmission distance (up to 20 kilometers) but also has a stable effect.
We all know that when optical fiber transmits data, the data signal is converted into an optical signal for transmission, and then the optical signal is converted into a data signal, so that we use the optical fiber transceiver to complete the work. As shown in the picture:
Optical fiber is cheap and has a long transmission distance, so it is widely used in monitoring projects. However, the optical fiber needs to be spliced, and the splicing equipment is expensive, so generally the splicing needs to be carried out by a special person, which requires a certain amount of money and time. Fiber optic transceivers are divided into 100M and 1000M, which can be selected according to the number of cameras.
The fourth type: wireless transmission method, camera + wireless bridge.
In the implementation environment of the specific monitoring system, if the wiring difficulty encounters a natural barrier or an insurmountable obstacle, we can use the wireless transmission method, so that the wireless bridge is used.
For example, residential areas with hardened roads, elevators, established factories, open areas with long distances, outdoors, etc., are all suitable for wireless transmission.
A wireless bridge can convert network signals into radio waves for point-to-point transmission. Use in pairs. Due to point-to-point directional transmission, long-distance wireless transmission can be realized, from hundreds of meters to tens of kilometers.
Construction attention points for using wireless bridges: There must be no shelter or obstacles between the transmitting and receiving ends. In this way, the signal transmission will be stable.
The above four methods are commonly used methods in the monitoring installation process, mainly need to be selected according to the environment, as a monitoring constructor, you need to have a certain grasp of each method, so that you can flexibly make decisions according to the environment and the requirements of the owner. normal choice.
